How to Read a Film & Write a Script

This course will help students understand what goes into making films and how to understand the films they love in deep and interesting ways. This course will also teach students how to write their own scripts, which will include character development, scene-writing, and the uses of symbolism in film. We will watch films together and discuss them early in the week. And then, the later part of the week we will learn to develop the script-writing process, paying particular attention to the screen-writing skills it takes to write and develop our own passion projects and films.
